Glögg is hot, mulled or spiced wine from Sweden, perfect for cold winter evenings. Variations are optional and add great personalized taste to your own!

Ingredients
- 750 mL red wine
- 1 cup brandy
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 fresh orange peel (or 2 tbsp if dried)
- 5 whole cloves
- 5 cardamom pods (or 1 tsp if ground)
Instructions
- Mix the wine, brandy, spices, fruit, and nuts in a pot (and any optional additions you might like)
- Heat the mixture for about 45 minutes, being careful not to boil the alcohol away — just let it simmer on a very low heat setting
- Strain through cheese cloth to remove all additions.
- Serve the Glögg with raisins and almonds added back, and floating in it.
