A gin version of the Sidecar

  • jigger
  • shaker
  • coupe cocktail glass (or martini glass)


  • 3 oz gin
  • ¾ oz Cointreau (or other orange liqueur or triple sec)
  • ¾ oz lemon juice
  • ½ oz grenadine
  • 1 egg white


  • (optionally) sugar the rim of the glass
  • Put ice into the shaker
  • Pour all the ingredients in over the ice
    3 oz gin, ¾ oz Cointreau, ¾ oz lemon juice, ½ oz grenadine, 1 egg white
  • Shake well for about a minute, to get the egg white frothy
  • Strain out into the couple cocktail glass
