Chocolate Martini

Equipment

  • coupe cocktail glass (or martini glass)

Ingredients

  • 1.75 oz vanilla vodka or dark rum (if you only have unflavored vodka, add vanilla extract below. If using dark rum, use Brinleys Shipwrecked for a sweeter and less expensive option. Pampero Aniversario would be a more expensive but less sweet and also one of the best sipping rums)
  • 1 oz creme de cocoa (Tempus Fugit is great)
  • 1 oz chocolate liqueur; dark if possible (Godiva is great)
  • 1 oz heavy cream
  • chocolate syrup (optional)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (if you don't have vanilla vodka)

Instructions

  • Optionally drizzle some chocolate syrup into the cocktail glass, for presentation

  • Put ice into the shaker
  • Pour all the ingredients in over the ice
    1.75 oz vanilla vodka or dark rum, 1 oz creme de cocoa, 1 oz chocolate liqueur; dark if possible, 1 oz heavy cream
  • Shake well for about a minute
  • Strain into cocktail glass
